Make sure that the flash and the commander unit are synced..This usually means the channel and group have to be synced between them

You’ll have to buy and use a trigger that will go on the hot shoe of the camera. You can then sync the trigger with the flash. That’s usually the best way to do it. But you’ll have to find out which trigger works with your flash and then get your hands on it. Do check out my Off-Camera flash course. It covers this topic in detail.
